Summer Breeze

This is my month 7 BOM-American Beauty. I'm really proud of this block. The center Ohio star gave me fits but I persevered and the rest of it came together beautifully.

Denver Broncos Invesco Field

Day 135

I guess it's going to take a lot longer than 365 days to do this project, since I seem to have a problem posting every day. Maybe because I'm trying to blog everyday on my http://www.awomanofacertainage.blogspot.com . Anyway here is another picture.

Funny Kids

Day 111

We were waiting for the movie theatre to open and the wind came up and it was really cold.
We got my jacket from the car and zipped them both into it. They thought it was so funny.

The Plaque

Day 108

We found this plaque on one of the benches at Loma Verde School. Mr. McNern was one of my daughters teachers and he was very good. At first I thought it was a memorial but then I realized it was commemorating how many years he worked a Loma Verde.

Loma Verde School

Day 107

This is the one of the elementary schools that my two
oldest darling daughters attended. I was a little younger
then Karen when I worked at this school as a yard duty
and she was a little older then her Munchkin when she
went to this school.

Fisher Snakes

Day 99

These snakes were fascinating. There must have been 50 of them hanging in a tree above a pond. They would coil up like the one in the background and strike the water, coming up with a fish. They very seldom missed. The one in the foreground has a fish inside where the flat spot is in his body.

T-Rex at the California Academy of Sciences

Day 96

It was Free Wednesday when we went to the museum, and everybody and his mother was there. The line was about 1/4 mile long when we got there, but it moved quickly and we were happy we got there so early. After we had been there a couple of hours we noticed that they were only letting people in as other people left. I have to say that it was worth it, because it's almost $30.00 a person to get in. The museum was closed for a few years while they tore down the old building and put in this new state of the art building with a big parking garage underneath. It has a green roof with thousands of plants and it's very energy efficient. As well as having a planaterium, it has an aquarium, a rainforest and several other things. We all had a really good time here.

What I'm doing on my Summer Vacation

Day 94

We just had 3 of our four daughters, 1 son-in-law, 1 daughter's boyfriend, and two of our grandchildren here for a week. It was loud, chaotic and pure joy. We did a lot in that week and I will be posting the pictures. Here is Papa and Little Man at the California Academy of Science.

Tree in the Graveyard

Day 93

I took pictures of this tree this spring when it was a lovely yellow color in full bloom. Here is that picture again.

This is a close up picture of the flowers on the tree.

This is what the tree looks like now.

This is what replaced the beautiful flowers.

And I'm still not sure what kind of tree this is. One of my friends thinks it's a Shadow tree and the seed pods are poisonous. Any ideas out there??
