Grandma's Cedar Chest

Day 16 and 17

I'm posting these together to get caught up. This is my grandmothers' cedar chest that my grandfather made with his own two hands. He made it as a wedding gift in 1940 for Grandma. He was a finish carpenter and took great pride in his work. He would be appalled at some of the construction being done in homes today.  Check out the inlaid work on the top of the chest.

  1. I love it! It is amazing the work people used to put into pieces like this.
